Monday, 15th April 2024 – As you could already read in our last blog, the FinalRep WORLDS23 was a complete success for us. Since then, we have seen a huge growth in the sport of streetlifting since then… beyond our wildest dreams. We have been approached by organizers from all over the world who want to organize FinalRep competitions in the future, which shows how much love there is for the sport.
However, our goal remains to be as professional as possible in the organization and still not lose touch with the roots of street workout. We don’t want to become Powerlifiting 2.0, we want to work together to promote strength sports around the world. Everyone who has the desire to become a part of this movement should have the opportunity.
That’s why in this blog we want to give you a better insight into the developments behind the scenes of FinalRep for 2024:
European Championship + Official Qualifier Competitions
As you may have already heard through our channels, there will be no World Championships in 2024, but continental championships instead. The next World Championships will take place in 2025. In 2024 we will host an European Championship.
New here too is, that we have entered into partnerships with numerous federations across Europe to offer a series of official qualification competitions under a uniform set of rules and comparable competition conditions.
In order to qualify as an athlete for this year’s European Championships, successful participation in a EUROS 24 Qualifier is therefore a prerequisite. Find out more on our EUROS 24 website.
FinalRep App
If you followed the FinalRep WORLDS 23, you should have noticed that we organized our competition for the first time using our specially programmed event and competition management software.
The purpose of this software is to make streetlifting competitions more accessible digitally. In other words: with the FinalRep app, we are creating a platform on which the entire competition experience is brought together for athletes, spectators and organizers.
In the first few months of the year, our focus was mainly on further developing the features for event organizers. This is the most important lever this year to get a large number of competitions and users onto our platform.
This is an exceptionally exciting project for us and we look forward to taking you on this journey in the future.
Drug-Testing at EUROS 24
For EUROS 24, we have decided to open up a new subject area that is very relevant to sport: Drug testing.
First of all, we do not want to proclaim ourselves to be a drug-free sport. Our aim for EUROS 24 is to take the first step on a long road to systematically and sustainably establishing a testing system with its own infrastructure.
Our goal is to strengthen the confidence in this sport and the performance of all athletes who practice it out of joy and love.
For EUROS 24, we have decided to take the first steps together with the EVO League. The EVO League is a company that has set itself the task of establishing structures for drug testing in bodybuilding and related sports.
As they have already been able to gain several months of experience in this field, we are extremely pleased about the cooperation.
What exactly does drug testing for EUROS 24 look like? Our testing system consists of two components: random off-season testing and on-site testing of the EUROS winners. In order to cover the costs of both procedures for the participating athletes at EUROS 24, we have opted for a pay-as-you-go system in which each athlete taking part in a EUROS 24 makes a contribution of EUR 20.
