BRAZIL IS BUILDING SOMETHING REAL

07.03.2026 | São Paulo, Brazil. The Brazil Open 2026, FinalRep Americs 2026 QUALIFIER,brought Streetlifting to Fibra CF in São Paulo for a focused, high-quality day of competition.

Organized by the Comitê Brasileiro de Streetlifting, the event gathered 18 athletes and 50 spectatorsfor a morning-to-afternoon session that delivered strong performances, notable international participation, and a clear signal that Brazil’s Streetlifting scene is developing fast. Compact in scale but serious in execution, the Brazil Open served as an important step forward for acommunity with ambitions that are growing by the season.

Event Overview

Running from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Brazil Open 2026 was a well-paced single-day event covering five male weight categories and two female divisions. With a planning crew of approximately 15 people and 10 staff on site, the Comitê Brasileiro de Streetlifting kept things tight and efficient throughout the day.

The event also featured two standout international athletes: Christian Gajardo from Chile, and Niccolo Foresti from Peru, whose participation added a cross-border dimension to what is still a relatively young national scene. Their presence on the platform raised the competitive level and gave local athletes a direct benchmark to measure themselves against. A full livestream was available for those following remotely, keeping the broader community connected to the action in São Paulo.

Highlights and Athletes Performance

The most talked-about performance of the day came from Mohamad Houbbi in the +101kg category, who delivered a 175kg dip, the heaviest entire competition, alongside a 240kg squat and a 20kg muscle-up, finishing with a 512.5kg total.

In the -66kg division, Daniel Corbalan produced the best pull-up of the day at 77.5kg a standout lift that set the tone for an impressive overall performance and a category win.

On the women’s side, Lilian Silva in the -63kg class recorded the highest muscle-up among female athletes at 15kg, while Priscila Vidal dominated the -57kg category across the board with a 35kg pull-up, 43.75kg dip, and 120kg squat for a 198.75kg total.

The -87kg category produced one of the most competitive battles of the event, with Niccolo Foresti from Peru claiming the top spot and Kauê Alvarenga finishing second with a 235kg squat and a 426.25kg total.

Organizational Insights

The Brazil Open 2026 met its primary goals: grow the community, push performance levels, and deliver a competitive and smooth event. On all three fronts, the organizers delivered.

The main challenge on the day was an internet outage during the livestream, but it was quickly resolved, keeping the broadcast alive without significant interruption. Staff numbers on site were stretched thin, but thorough advance planning allowed the team to manage the workload effectively.

One notable upgrade from previous editions was the warm-up area: three fully equipped warm-up stations were available for athletes, a meaningful improvement in athlete experience and preparation quality.

For the next edition, the team has already identified the key priorities: more on-site helpers, a larger venue to match a growing audience, and additional competition plates in the warm-up zone. The feedback from athletes regarding organization and equipment was overwhelmingly positive. The main point raised was simply that the space needs to grow to match the event’s ambition.

Community Response & Future Outlook

The response from both athletes and spectators was strong. Energy at Fibra CF was high throughout the day, and the livestream kept the online community engaged from start to finish. Feedback across the board was positive, with equipment quality receiving particular praise. Brazil’s Streetlifting scene is growing and the calendar already reflects that momentum.

The next major milestone on the horizon is AMERICS 2026, scheduled for November in Belo Horizonte, which will bring a wider international field and an even higher competitive level.

Conclusion

The Brazil Open 2026 was a well-run, performance-driven event that showed exactly where Brazilian Streetlifting stands, and where it’s heading. International athletes raised the bar, local athletes answered the challenge, and the community left São Paulo with a clear sense of what’s possible.

This is a scene in motion. The QUALIFIER format is pushing standards higher with every edition, and Brazil is keeping up. We’re proud to be part of this journey. Let’s keep pushing the limits together!
