The Italian Open 26 took place on 17–18.04.2026 and was organized by Streetlifting Italia at Ironfit Gym in Monza, Italy. On 21.12.2025, the event was announced as an official EUROS 26 Qualifier (link to Instagram post).
During and after the event, multiple rule-related reports were submitted through the official violation reporting system. These reports were reviewed and assessed in accordance with FinalRep standards and procedures.
Following an extensive review process of approximately 14 days, a decision was made to revoke the event’s status as a “FinalRep EUROS 26 Qualifier” with retroactive effect.
This statement outlines the basis for that decision and the relevant findings.
General Information
To provide context for this decision, the following framework principles are relevant.
1) The role of FinalRep
FinalRep was founded in 2020 with the initial purpose of organizing Streetlifting competitions. Over time, this role has expanded into the coordination of an international competition network, including the development of unified rules, competition standards, and event systems.
Today, FinalRep’s role includes:
defining and maintaining standardized competition rules
supporting event organization through software, education, and coordination
ensuring comparability of results across international events
2) Collaboration framework
Since the introduction of international competition seasons starting with the EUROS 24, FinalRep has entered into formal collaboration agreements with independent event organizers.
These agreements define mutual rights and responsibilities, including:
the provision and implementation of the FinalRep rules
the requirement for standardized judging procedures
the use of designated competition systems
3) Role of the event organizer
Event organizers operate as independent entities responsible for planning and executing competitions within the agreed framework. While FinalRep provides systems and standards, the operational execution of the event remains the responsibility of the organizer.
4) Contractual basis
All collaborations are governed by written agreements defining obligations and requirements for both parties. These agreements form the basis for accountability within the FinalRep competition structure.
Rule Violation Reporting
To ensure transparency and quality control across the competition network, FinalRep introduced a structured rule violation reporting system in 2025. This system allows athletes, spectators, and event participants to report potential violations of published rules and standards. This form is accessible in the footer of our website.
The reporting system is intended to capture:
structural rule violations
significant procedural inconsistencies
integrity-related concerns affecting competition fairness
It is not intended for individual judgment disputes or subjective lift-by-lift scoring disagreements.
Review and Case Assessment
During and after the Italian Open 26, a number of violation reports were submitted through the official reporting system. These reports were reviewed and evaluated, and a subset was identified as requiring further investigation.
The review focused on the following categories:
equipment compliance with licensed standards and consistency of judging procedures
use of approved competition software systems
availability and traceability of judging outcomes
Following the initial assessment, the full event livestream and available system data were reviewed to evaluate the scope and validity of the reported issues.
Key Findings of the Review
The review identified the following categories of findings:
1) Equipment Compliance
Multiple instances of non-compliance with equipment licensing requirements were identified across the event.
2) Competition Equipment Standards
The use of non-standard bumper plates was observed during parts of the competition. This introduces differences in equipment conditions compared to standardized qualifier requirements and may affect result comparability.
3) Judging System and Procedures
The event was conducted using a third-party software system for judging display and result processing. This system differed from the FinalRep App configuration required under the collaboration agreement.
As a result, judging outcomes were not consistently traceable through the official FinalRep system or fully verifiable via the livestream in all cases.
4) Data Consistency and System Alignement
Several inconsistencies were identified between:
FinalRep system data
livestream presentation
recorded judging outcomes
Review Process Summary
Following the receipt of the initial reports, an internal assessment was conducted to determine the appropriate scope of review.
The investigation included:
analysis of submitted violation reports
full review of the official livestream recording
cross-referencing with FinalRep system data
comparison against licensed equipment standards
The review process confirmed that a full-event evaluation was required in order to assess compliance across all relevant categories.
Result and Decision
Based on the findings outlined above and the supporting documentation contained in the appendices, the following determination was made:
The Italian Open 26 did not meet the required conditions to be recognized as a FinalRep EUROS 26 Qualifier.
As a result:
the qualifier status of the event is hereby revoked immediately and retroactively
the event results are no longer included in the EUROS 26 qualifier ranking
This decision is based on identified violations in:
equipment compliance requirements
judging system implementation
data consistency and result traceability
Impact and Athlete Considerations
We as FinalRep recognize that this decision affects athletes who participated in the event and may have implications for their Qualification pathways. By implementing this decision, we aim to find the best possible solution for the athletes involved. To mitigate this impact, we are currently evaluating additional qualification opportunities with other event organizers within the EUROS 26 season.
