11.04.2026 | Singapore. The Singapore Open 2026 brought elite-level Streetlifting to PURE Fitness Ngee Ann City for a single day of high-stakes competition that left no doubt about the direction the Asian scene is heading. Organized by Jordan and Nicholas of Singapore Streetlifting, the event gathered 33 athletes and 150 spectators for a packed session running from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The field was international, the standard was high, and the performances delivered matched every bit of the pre-event expectation.
World records were challenged, international rivalries were settled, and Singapore once againproved it is one of the most serious Streetlifting hubs in Asia.
Event Overview
The Singapore Open drew athletes from across the region, with representation from Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and India. The international depth of the field raised the competitive intensity across every flight and gave the event a genuine global feel, despite its single-day format.
A team of 20 people handled planning, setup, and teardown, keeping the schedule on track throughout the day. Equipment quality received consistent praise from competitors, and the atmosphere inside the venue was described as structured, well-organized, and consistently energized from the first flight to the last.
Highlights and Athletes Performance
The defining moment of the Singapore Open came from Diksha in the female -52kg category, who successfully completed a 47.5kg pull-up, an unofficial world record that drew one of the loudest reactions of the entire day. The lift placed her just 1.25kg behind category winner Katrena Goh, who won with a 231,25kg total in the final standings, in one of the closest and most electrifying women’s battles of the season so far.
Hakim Azahar won the -66kg category with a standout 142,5kg dip. In the men’s -73kg class, Nguyen The Son from Vietnam produced the other record performance of the day: a 158.75kg dip, also an unofficial world record, and the kind of lift that travels well beyond the venue on social media.
Together, two unofficial world records in a single competition day is a result that speaks for itself. The Singapore Open did not just host a competition, it hosted a statement.
Organizational Insights
The Singapore Open met all of its initial objectives: high turnout from registered athletes, performance levels above expectations, and an atmosphere that delivered on the pre-event hype. The main area flagged for improvement was the livestream, which experienced technical issues during the day, including audio inconsistencies and incomplete display of athlete data. Space constraints around the squat rack area were also noted as a limiting factor for the current venue setup.
The organizing team has already identified manpower allocation and livestream production quality as the priorities to address for the next edition.
One broader point raised by the organizers deserves attention: Singapore Streetlifting currently funds the majority of its events independently through the Singapore Calisthenics Academy, and the team has highlighted the need for greater financial support and sponsorship to continue growing the quality of their competitions.
Community Response & Future Outlook
The response from athletes and the crowd was strongly positive. The venue energy was high throughout, and competitor feedback consistently praised the organization, the equipment, and the scheduling, which included enough buffer time to keep things running smoothly without unnecessary pressure on athletes between flights. As one competitor, Haaziq Mutazah, said:
„It’s possible to achieve anything you want to achieve, if you put hard work into it.“
The Singapore scene is building with purpose. With a 33-athlete open competition, the ceiling here is clearly still a long way up.
Conclusion
The Singapore Open 2026 was a competition that delivered beyond its size. Two unofficial world records, a roster of international athletes, and a community that continues to raise its own standards with every edition.
Singapore is not just participating in global Streetlifting. It is shaping it.
We’re proud to be part of this journey. Until next time — Let’s keep pushing the limits together!
