History Made: Inside the Wild Energy of the First Dutch Streetlifting Nationals 25

22.03.2025 | Nijmegen, Netherlands. The first-ever Dutch Streetlifting Nationals marked a defining moment for the streetlifting community in the Netherlands. Hosted at the Riverland HealthCentre in Nijmegen and organized by Hassan and Sayf, the event brought together 70 athletes and over 300 spectators for a full day of strength, hype, and breakthrough performances.

Supported by key sponsors MPDS and Supremeforce, this inaugural national event proved that the Dutch scene is not only ready—but ready to lead.

Event Overview

From 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, the venue buzzed with energy as athletes competed across categories and judges—Sofia, Tonio, Pere, and Nadine—ensured each lift was held to the highest standards. With 40 people involved behind the scenes, the event ran smoothly from setup to teardown, despite a few minor logistical challenges with catering. It was the kind of day where newcomers made their mark, veterans brought intensity, and
the crowd carried the atmosphere to another level.

Highlights and Athletic Performances

One of the most anticipated showdowns unfolded in the -94kg men’s category, where Kenny and Duncan went head-to-head in a battle that kept the entire venue on edge. In the end, Duncan clinched the win by a slim margin, in what many called the most electrifying moment of the day.

The women’s categories also delivered standout performances, marking a new era of female strength in the Dutch streetlifting scene:

  • W -63kg | Frida Peterson – In her first-ever competition, Frida secured first place
    with a RIS of 104.
  • W -70kg | Lynn Narings – Achieved a 300+ kg total, a RIS of 125, and set a new
world record in dip with 80 kg.
  • W +70kg | Claudia van Osch – Finished with a 277 kg total and an RIS of 115.

These athletes didn’t just win—they made history.

Organizational Insights

As a debut event, the Dutch Nationals exceeded expectations. The strong turnout from both athletes and spectators showed the local appetite for high-level streetlifting.Feedback from athletes emphasized satisfaction with the venue, equipment quality, and overall organization.

The only real area for improvement was catering—something organizers have already marked as a priority for next year. Despite this, the general response was overwhelmingly positive, with several international athletes already expressing interest in competing in future editions.

As one visiting media team put it:

This is the best, most hyped-up competition we’ve been to. It’s unbelievable that this is your first competition too. – Rising Productions

Community Response & Future Outlook

The impact of the event extended beyond the gym floor. Social media channels lit up with recaps, highlights, and post-event reflections, while the Dutch streetlifting website and MPDS’s Instagram provided deeper insights into the athletes and organizers who made it all happen.

Looking forward, the team behind the Dutch Nationals is already planning a qualifier for next year. With momentum, international attention, and local support on their side, the future of Dutch streetlifting is looking brighter than ever.
