DSL 2025 Becomes an International Milestone for Venezuelan Streetlifting

The Desafío Street Lifting 2025, held at Plaza Las Américas Mall, marked a historic step forward for the Streetlifting scene in Latin America. Organized by Gamma Workout and supported by LEVEN and the Venezuelan Weightlifting Federation, the event brought together 21 athletes, over 100 spectators, and a defining moment for Venezuelan Streetlifting: its first international participation.
With rising energy, national records, and standout performances, DSL 2025 wasn’t just a competition—it was a celebration of growth, precision, and pride.

Event Overview

The event kicked off at 10:30 AM and ran smoothly until 7:00 PM, filling the venue with excitement and support from start to finish. A dedicated team of 20 organizers and volunteers made sure that every detail—from judging to logistics—ran with efficiency.
Despite a minor issue launching the FinalRep app, swift action by the FinalRep support team helped resolve it quickly, ensuring a professional and fluid experience.
Compared to 2024, the athlete turnout was higher, and the overall level of performance had clearly risen—showing the strong trajectory of the sport in Venezuela.

Highlights and Athletic Performances

DSL 2025 was packed with powerful moments, from record-setting lifts to
groundbreaking debuts:

🇻🇪 Álvaro Riveros once again stole the show, taking first place in the -80kg category and the overall title for the second consecutive year. He shattered the Venezuelan squat record with a monstrous 190 kg, further cementing his legacy as the country’s most successful Streetlifter to date.
🇨🇴 Sebastián Garcés (-73kg) made regional history by becoming the first international athlete to compete on Venezuelan soil—marking a pivotal milestone in the Latin American Streetlifting scene.
🇻🇪 Gionni González (-66kg) set a new national dip record with an impressive 105 kg, electrifying the crowd and raising the bar for local athletes.
🇻🇪 In the newly opened -105 kg category, Carlos Abiad delivered a series of standout lifts, all setting national records.
